This Maritime Fire Fighter training course is part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers with designated safety duties. It deals with the precautions needed to minimise the risk of fires, how fires are caused and how to extinguish them.

CERTIFICATION

This course is accredited by the MCA and provides part of the statutory basic training requirements for seafarers. Maritime establishments are well aware of the implications of possible fires aboard ship, particularly at sea when assistance is rarely possible. Having well trained and competent crew to deal with fire situations is therefore invaluable.

Successful completion of this one day practical course will lead to the  STCW A-VI/1-2 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Update certificate which forms part of the STCW Basic Safety Training Update.
